Hu-m-an™ can form the basis for a 30 or 60 frame per second (25/50 fps PAL), 2D and 3D analysis system when combined with a commercial video capture board.

Hu-m-an is hardware independent, movement analysis software that is based on a standard Microsoft® AVI form of video file. There are a number of commercially available video capture  boards that use this widely accepted file format. Video capture technology is advancing rapidly and, for example, Pinnacle Systems Inc. of California (http://www.pinnaclesys.com), provide a variety of video capture and editing solutions which are in a price range that make laboratory analysis systems possible for virtually everyone. A commercial capture card, together with Hu-m-an™, can form the basis for an entry level state of the art capture and analysis system.

Many common video cards capture full field (both even and odd fields). A video utility (see Download Demonstrations) splits the two fields contained in each frame into the equivalent of 60 fps (NTSC - North American standard) or 50 fps (PAL). 

The Hu-m-an software environment, of course, can also be used without any video capture, since more than 100 video clips are included! The Hu-m-an solution is ideal for individuals or laboratories working on limited budgets, or as a companion to add flexibility to your current system.
